Your Mensa of Wisconsin Foundation has good news to report for this first 6 months of 2010!

MOWF has given grants to the Capital Science and Engineering Fair, Literacy Services of Wisconsin, Milwaukee Jewish Day School, the German Immersion Program, Wauwatosa West High School orchestra, and Friends of the Schlitz Audubon Center.

Any donation to MOWF’s endowment is greatly appreciated. Special thanks to our local Bridge SIG; when a player goes down, ten cents per trick is put into the kitty as a MOWF donation. Thanks also to Dan Graves; when he helps friends with their computer problems, he requests that they send a donation to MOWF in lieu of payment to him.

There are lots of creative (and inexpensive) ways to donate to MOWF. For example, if you hold a garage or book sale, earmark a dollar-amount or a percentage of your sales for MOWF. If you host a Mensa event or dinner, a “wide-MOWF jar” for collecting coins or bills is a nice touch. And by all means, remember to register as a MOWF donor in the Pick and Save “We Care” program; at the customer service desk, you can arrange to link your Pick and Save bonus card with MOWF (our link-code is 502100), and a percentage of your store purchase amounts will be sent to us.

Please consider a memorial donation to MOWF in honor of a loved one; thanks to those of you who donated to MOWF in memory of our beloved friend and fellow Mensan, Lee Aschoff.
